אודות המרכז לחינוך יהודי ע"ש מלטון

המרכז לחינוך יהודי ע"ש מלטון, בבית הספר לחינוך ע"ש שלמה סימור פוקס של האוניברסיטה העברית, הינו מרכז אקדמי לחקר החינוך היהודי המחויב לקדם את הקיימות של המורשת והתרבות היהודית על ידי צורות חינוך מגוונת.

משימות המרכז הן: עריכת מחקר, הצעת תכניות אקדמיות המפתחות חוקרים ואנשי חינוך, ומעורבות בשדה על ידי קידום מיזמים חדשנים חינוכיים.

המרכז הוא מקום אינקלוסיבי ומגוון בו הסגל האקדמי שואף: ליצור ידע תאורטי ואמפירי חדש  לטובת החינוך היהודי בארץ ובעולם.

המרכז מחויב לשיתוף פעולה עם אנשי החינוך היהודי מזרמים דתיים ואידיאולוגים שונים, וגם עם קבוצות דתיות ותרבותיות אחרות, לא-יהודיות, שיש להן מטרות מקבילות.

פעילות המרכז כפופה למחויבות של האוניברסיטה העברית למצוינות אקדמית, מעורבות בקהילייה האקדמית הבינלאומית, ומשימותיה כאוניברסיטה של העם היהודי.

The Melton Centre for Jewish Education at The Fox School of Education of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is an academic center for the study of Jewish education committed to supporting the sustainability of Jewish culture and heritage through diverse forms of education.

The Melton Centre’s mission is to undertake research, to offer academic programs that nurture the development of scholars and practitioners, and to engage with the field through innovative educational projects.

The Centre is an inclusive and diverse academic community with a mandate to develop new empirical and theoretical knowledge for the good of Jewish education in Israel and around the world.
